I Have A Good Reason!...

So sorry I have not been able to keep up better with my blog! I do have a good reason though as I've been busy with another little creation these past 9 months! On May 15th I gave birth to our first child! I will try and answer questions as soon as possible and will also write a post about the pregnancy and how my health is doing! :)

  1. Crystal,
Great blog! Been Hashi for about 5 years. Quick question. What test did you take, or where did you go to find out about your dairy allergy that took your healing to the next level?

I feel like that is the one thing I'm missing. Thanks!

  3. I read your entire Blog and I am so inspired!! I have Hashimotos and PCOS and have been on Synthroid and a few generic forms and have had nothing but problems with symptoms. I had not considered alternative medicine before now but I am hoping and praying that this is the answer for me. My husband and I are TTC and 6 months ago I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. I am so interested in hearing about your pregnancy and what you did as far as supplements during that time. Congratulations on the baby!!

  5. Hi Crystal,

Congratulations on the birth of you first child. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's in the last few weeks, just shy of a year after the birth of my first child. I was wondering if your Hashimoto's had any impact on your getting pregnant or your pregnancy? I have recently started doing research about how I can reverse this condition so that I can continue to grow my family. What information did you get from your doctors about having children? Also I noticed that you didnt mention in your blog if you had given up gluten. Everything I have read so far suggests giving up gluten, which I have done, but nothing about giving up dairy. Did you give up gluten at all? I am grateful to find someone who has been in my shoes. Thank you for all of the information you have provided.

  6. Congratulations on having a baby, that is exciting.
I read your blog, it is great. I am more than 2x your age. Sorry for the long story.
I wish I could email someone with the same problem who was around my age or talk to them on the phone. I am a senior citizen. I have gotten off gluten and most dairy products. I have started walking 3-6 miles several times a week. Walking if supposed to help the thyroid work better. I eat Brazil nuts every day for their selenium content.
I have looked in natural MD in NYC, no one I found specializes in thyroid problems there is no such doctor who is a natural endocrinologist, that would be ideal. Any suggestions from anyone here?
My Story-At first around 8 years ago I have subclinical hypothyroidism and was given the choice to take synthroid which I chose not to take. I read online that taking synthroid stops the thyroid from working. I was diagnosed with hashimoto’s disease a few months ago. I delayed taking pills for a few months until I started getting heart palpitations. I read online that all my current symptoms: high blood pressure, heart palpitations, high cholesterol, being overweight are all caused from a slow thyroid. My doctors are giving me a beta blocker too and my choice not to take synthroid I do take “Armor Thyroid” instead supposed to be more natural. I have trouble at times trying to get to sleep because of heart paltaions so my doctor suggested Xanax. I said no thanks I do not want to become a drug addict of Xanax.
I hate taking MD pills, I call them poison, they do harm my liver and kidneys. I do not believe much in doctors. They do not cure disease in the USA, they give pills that is all they know.
I am in NYC.My email is janeroth2@gmail.com feel free to write me if you have been doing natural things to feel better with your hashimoto disease.
Thank you. I wish everyone to feel good.

  8. Hi Crystal,

My name is Andrea and I am so pleased to have discovered your blog. I too have Hashimotos, live in Southern California, and am working on improving my health with the use of supplements and diet. It's been a long battle now (diagnosed 2007) but in the last 7 years I've welcomed three children so that has wreaked a little havoc with my body too. (They are worth it!)

In any event, I'd love to keep in touch with you if you have time as a new mommy for a Hashimoto's friend. Thanks for your advice about copper with the zinc, I haven't taken copper before. I'll give it a go!

Best wishes - hope you're feeling great and getting some sleep!

  10. Did your doctor check your TSH, Free T3 and Free T4? Most of the time a doctor will say labs are normal when they are not! Can you post what your lab numbers are?

  11. I had a full thyroid panel and it all came back normal.but I have the antibodies. I commented what vitamins I am taking under the copper and zinc blog. I just found out today my vitamins contain soybean oil and Im having to find new ones. My doctors are morons. I am having to research and find information on my own. They act like its no big deal, but I have suicidal thoughts. An hour after I wake up, I fall right back to sleep even if I force myself to try to stay awake. I do not want this to get worse. I believe I can fight this. its unnatural for my body to turn against itself so why not fight this with something natural like vitamins. honestly, Crystal you are my only hope. noone cares or understands because its not happening to them. If we can email eachother that would be great, this works too.

I would like to share this link:

  15. Congrats on your new addition! My husband & I have been trying to conceive, but i think my hasi's is not allowing us to do so. I have a bottle of Armour sitting on my table i have not started yet. I really want to bring down my tsh naturally. Did you take the selenium and e combo daily? And daily throughout pregnancy? Please get back to me when you can. thx

    1. Sorry to hear you've had trouble conceiving. That is a very common side effect of Hashi's. I did take the selenium and vitamin E combo through my whole pregnancy. You might want to give Armour a try and see how you feel over the next few months. It may help you conceive and you can always take the Selenium and Vit E while taking the Armour. :)
